The island of Hoedic:  less than 150 islanders and a dozen of fishing boats.  Most of the islanders earn their living on these boats…Everybody knows everybody and welcoming friendliness is a second nature! 3 hours are necessary to completely explore this piece of granite 2.5 km long and 1 km wide. But of course, you will want to linger…The island with its numerous coves invites you to stay.

The fort belongs to the Coastal protection agency (« Conservatoire du Littoral”). It welcomes many exhibitions on the natural resources of the island : fauna and flora of the dunes, of the marshes and the cliffs…that you will certainly discover on the island. Nature tours are organised in high season by an association : Association de gestion du Fort et de son environnement.
